Cocoon Jars

Ming Furniture

This wonderful miniature furniture is glazed green and other different colours. The glazes were produced by melting clay with lead and grinding up the resulting glassy material. They were used as mini replicas of the deceased furniture and placed in the tomb so they could be surrounded by the riches in death that they had during their lifetime. AD 1368-1643
